Jon
B. Bushey designs universal mount for HD10U! JVC's HD10U is a great camera for the price. One thing that is missing is better image control. The best way to achieve the missing image control is with a matte box. Hollywood has used matte boxes on film cameras for decades. The use of filters is a technique employed by all the best cinematographers. Using a matte box with filters gives you the image control you need. According to the mount's designer, Jon B. Bushey, "Shooting with the HD10U is like shooting with a film camera because the camera itself does not offer much control over the recorded image. So just like a film camera, owners of the HD10U can use a matte box with filters to adjust the recorded image."
We also have models with an
audio/video transmitter plus a model with LEDs that illuminate the HD10U's
buttons for night work. Our prices start at $99 for the universal mount
itself. The model with the power supply is $169 (not available) and the
universal mount with the power supply and video/audio transmitter is $369.
The mount with the video/audio transmitter is custom produced for The matte box shown in our photos is a CAvision 4x4 bellows. The unique design of our mount permits most matte boxes to fit on our mount. As of March, 2005, the powered version of this mount is out of stock.
